As per the Local Authorities Election Act, here are a few things to know:

You must be a resident of Alberta to donate.

Only individuals are able to donate, not unions or corporations.

Donations for municipal elections are not eligible for tax receipts.

Though all contributions are recorded, those over $50 must be recorded and submitted with the contributor's name and address.

Donations received that are not used by election day will be donated on the campaign's behalf to a charity of the candidate's choosing.
All remaining funds from my campaign will be donated to Youth One.
